For the past few months or so, I’ve really been intentional with strengthening and deepening my relationship with God. In the past, I would be all over the place in my spiritual life but I vowed that I wanted change. I wanted to finally be able to remain consistent and show God the love he deserves from me. So when I saw Fatima post about her #SBC30DayFaith Prayer Journaling Challenge, I didn’t hesitate to jump on it. Although I just came across it last night (2 days late) that didn’t stop me from executing this morning and getting right into it. I’ve been wanting to get back to journaling every single day. I really don’t have no excuses either. We always find time to do everything else that we wanna do, find the time for God!
I started following Fatima early last year thanks to my girl Maya Elious and she has been a complete Godsend to my timeline ever since! Fatima is a Christian Career and Life Coach that helps women get unstuck, gain clarity and take action on their goals. She is everything y’all, I highly suggest you follow her (on IG and Youtube) and join her FB Group if you’re looking for resources to help you draw closer to God.
So what’s this #SBC30DayFaith Prayer Journaling Challenge?
The goal of the challenge is for us to really push to build our faith through practical obedience to God the entire month of January. Watch this video from Fatima to learn more about it.
We’re using the S.O.A.P. Bible Study Method for the challenge. We’re reading and meditating on a scripture provided by Fatima each day and then break it down using the S.O.A.P. Method.
The S.O.A.P. Method simply stands for:
SCRIPTURE – Write down the scripture in your journal.
OBSERVATION – Go deeper, what does the scripture mean/what is it all about? Look into the chapter the scripture is in as well for context.
APPLICATION – How can you apply it to your life?
PRAYER – Write out a prayer aligned with the scripture and then pray it out loud.
And das it!
So today is DAY 3 of the challenge and I wanna share with you my journal entry. I’m going to commit to sharing my journaling every single day this month so you can join in and follow along my journey.
Day 3 #SBC30DayFaith
Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control: against such things there is no law.
God didn’t design for us to live a life full of despair, brokenness, hate, bondage. He wants the best for us. That’s why He gave us a roadmap to follow. If we go outside of that roadmap, anything is liable to happen. But the great thing about God’s love and grace is this: He ALWAYS re-routes us and gets us back on course. You just have to desire Him.
I want to be more free; Free to live God’s way so that I can be made whole and at peace all of my days. I will do this by reading God’s word daily and implementing His teachings. I will treat those in my life as well as strangers kind despite how they treat me. I will be a better person all around as a result.
Lord, thank you for being who you are. Thank you for your everlasting love for me despite my ways. You are worthy to be praised! Lord forgive me for those times when I step outside of the roadmap that you have provided for me. For when I haven’t been the most kind or gentle with those in my life. Today I pray that you show me how to love more like you so that I will be able to use my freedom to serve others. Father I want to live my life your way, not the way of this world. I love you Lord, thank you in advance for the radical shift that’s about to take place in my life! Amen!
I felt soooooo good after completing today’s challenge! It’s one thing to read the Word, but it’s another to actually dig deeper and find out ways you can actually apply it to your life. The Word means nothing if we’re not living it out loud. God is really stretching me and moving me into a place of greater heights and I’m so ready to embark on this journey!
I pray that this has blessed you as it has blessed me and I challenge you to join me! Click here to learn more and get started TODAY.
Now let’s talk about it. What’s something that you need to implement into your life that will draw you closer to God? Do you use a prayer journal? Sound off in the comments, I wanna hear from you!
P.S. If you thought that this was insanely awesome or made you think about someone that you know, please share this with them!
